I am sad that this is the last of this series. This series was really good and well written. Now for this book. I fell in love with this book from the start. This is Roan and Seg's book. Roan is the other owner of the marina with his buddies. Roan is the "thinker" of the group and because of that he thinks a lot more then he should sometimes. Roan is openly out of the closet but Seg is still in because he feels if he comes out it will end his professional career. If you believe the old saying love at first sight then believe this. They felt it but both only wanted a "one night". After that one night they couldn't stop thinking about the other and remembering that one night. Fate seemed to always step in and throw them together. Although they both tried hard to deny it for their own reasons it was there. Roan was fighting his own battles because of his family and we already know what Seg's were. Once Roan is forced to let his friends in he is overwelmed with their reaction. It is not at all what he was thinking. He still is afraid to say anything to Seg as he doesn't want him to run but fears he will. The push and pull between these guys is so heartwarming and scary at the same time as they both discover what is truly important in life and how they are going to get what they both want. If you haven't started this series, what are you waiting for. trust me when i say you will NOT be disappointed.Product details

**I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review of this book.** I have always been a big fan of Nicole Edwards’ books. I’ve read all of her series and am super excited that The Pier 70 Series and the Austin Arrows series have crossed over. Right from the start of the Pier 70 Series you felt for Roan after he poured out his heart to Cam and was rejected and was the only one in his family willing to help his sister with her addiction. I loved how right from the start of Roan’s book all of his partners and their significant others were there for him regardless of how he acted in the past proving that family is always about the blood in your veins. I loved that Seg was able to step outside his comfort zone for what was important to him. It was both heartbreaking and amazingly sweet to watch these two discover what they meant to each other and figure out if they could trust in those feelings. Of course it would not be a Nicole Edwards romance without the scorching hot sex and Harmless definitely delivers that as well. I would highly recommend this book and am sad to see this series coming to an end.

Roan Gregory is the last single man standing out of the group of four friends who own the Pier 70 Marina. One by one, they have found their HEA including Roan's best friend Cam who Roan thought he was in love with until Cam found his other half. Since then, Roan has slowly isolated himself from their group, becoming more and more of a loner - and more lonely. In Harmless, it's finally Roan's turn to find happiness and we soon find out is both long overdue and well deserved.
One night not too long after his meltdown with Cam, Roan is in a bar attempting to drown his sorrows when he is approached by one seriously sexy man who just so happens to also be the star defenseman for the Austin Arrows hockey team. Colton Seguine has a vibe that pulls Roan in, and one night of seriously hot and sexy times ensues. But one night is all it can be because Seg is so far in the closet he can't see the door, so Roan leaves without saying goodbye.
A little over a year passes in the meantime. When things in his life become more and more challenging, Roan does what he always does he figures out a way to handle it himself no matter how much the weight of his problems threaten to drown him. He learned a long time ago that he was on his own when it comes to his family and he honestly doesn't know how to ask anyone for help, particularly his friends, not wanting to burden anyone else with the problems he views as his alone. His drug addicted sister Cassie has no one else who is willing to step up to the plate to try to support her though, and no matter how much Roan wants to help her, she doesn't seem to want to help herself and he is terrified that he is going to fail her. One night he takes a chance on going to an Arrows game with Cam, Dare and the rest of their group as he both hopes and fears seeing the man who never left his thoughts over the last year. Sure enough, Roan and Seg come face to face again and it is difficult for both men to act like they are no more than passing acquaintances but they try to pull it off anyway. When Roan returns home though, his world is upended yet again by what he finds and he knows his life is not going to be conducive to any sort of relationship anytime in the near future, especially not with a man like Colton Seguine.
Seg fears coming out; he may lose his career if he does, but when he meets Roan, he sees something special in that man as well as an opportunity for a future he has always secretly wanted. They face a long uphill battle as Seg fights both his own fears and Roan's, but fortunately Seg is a man who has always pursued what he wants with a relentless passion. Roan has lived out and proud since he was a teenager, but after his own family shunned him and his mother walked out of life claiming he had the devil living in him, he decided right then and there that he would never hide who he truly is and anyone who didn't get on board with that attitude didn't belong in his life.
Harmless is all about the true meaning of family on one level and about the power of true love on another level. The difference between Seg's mom and Roan's poor excuse for blood relations is almost laughable, and the support system provided by Cam and Gannon, Dare and Noah, Teague and Hudson, and AJ and Milly just proves that family is made up of the people who care for and support you no matter what. My heart went out to Roan and Seg on so many different occasions as they struggled to find a way to their HEA, but there were no shortage of hot and "awww"-worthy moments along the way too. Actually, I never thought I would say this, but there were almost too many sex scenes for my taste in this book. I still loved it overall though.
Harmless is a wonderful end to the Pier 70 series! I loved Roan and Seg, and the crossover between the Pier 70 and Austin Arrows worlds put a smile on my face. I am sad to see the series come to an end but I am certainly looking forward to more of the Arrows and perhaps catching a glimpse of a few familiar faces in that series in the future.
I love, love, love Harmless! It is #4 in the Pier 70 series and it can be read as a standalone but why since Nicole Edwards writes the hottest and steamiest romances and Harmless is no exception. HARMLESS is a M/M romance and is HOT and STEAMY!
Harmless is the last book in this series and it is Roan Gregory and Colton Seguine’s (Seg or Seggy as his mother calls him) story. I hope it isn’t the last we will see about these hunky men.
Seg is a Hockey player and is in the closet. Roan is part owner of a marina and has been out of the closet for years. They had a one-time hookup (agreed upon by both men) and I can’t say more because I don’t want to spoil the story for you.
If you love M/M books then Harmless & the Pier 70 series are must reads! I think Harmless may be my favorite book out of this series but, these books are all very good & HOT.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book. But, I have my pre-ordered Harmless because I buy all of Nicole Edwards books! I love reading her books and I can’t wait to see what is next. I give Harmless 5 HOT & STEAMY STARS.
